Description
Dumhal begins with the dancers moving in a procession, the leader of the party carrying a banner. When it is time for the dance, the banner is driven into the ground, and the dancers form a circle around it. Accompaniment to the dance includes a drum the singing dancers. The menĀ?s costume includes tall, cone-shaped hats decorated with beads and shells and colorful, long robes. The dance is from Kashmir and is performed solely by the men of the Wattal tribe at specific locations and times.
